I am delighted that being a Civil Celebrant brings together all my passions in this very rewarding job. I moved to Scotland from Co Armagh N. Ireland to study at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and have been a professional actor for the last 20 years. During this time I have enjoyed travelling the length and breadth of the country appreciating the warmth of the people and the beautiful scenery.
When not acting, I teach yoga and I have been sharing the joy of this life enhancing practice for 10 years.
I enjoy writing and reading poetry and won the Elaine Gullen trophy for poetry reading whilst studying at the Conservatoire.
Where I work
I am based near Helensburgh and work throughout the West Coast of Scotland covering Glasgow, Renfrewshire, Paisley and beyond.
I trained with Celebrant Training Academy Scotland, graduating with Distinction. I was delighted to train with Neil Dorward, the first Civil Celebrant in Scotland, who has over 15 years experience as a Professional Celebrant and has been training others with Annie Scrimgeour, Academy Principal, for over 10 years.
After qualifying from Celebrant Training Academy Scotland, I undertook further training with celebrant and author Veronika Robinson of Heat-Led Celebrants. This helped me to refine my craft and enjoy the creative process while opening up the wonderful world of ritual and ceremony.
Why Use A Celebrant?
When it comes to Funerals (or Celebrations of Life as I believe is a more fitting name), the service celebrates the life of the deceased and truely reflects them and their beliefs. With all other ceremonies it is a joyous expression of who is having the ceremony be it a wedding, naming day or renewal of vows.
Particularly in these days of covid restrictions my aim to serve every family with a heartfelt and memorable service.
I will be delighted to discuss your needs and plans and create memorable occasion for you.
